Module 3: Intervention for Students with Dyslexia
Objectives

Students will be able to:

  • Understand the developmental progression of learning to read and spell
  • Characterize the core elements of multisensory, structured language instruction for children with dyslexia and know why those elements are critical for success
  • Implement instructional strategies appropriate for students with dyslexia or students with at-risk characteristics
  • Identify an appropriate intervention program based on student characteristics
  • Evaluate commercially available reading programs based on knowledge of important components.
