Objectives
Students will be able to:
- Understand the developmental progression of learning to read and spell
- Characterize the core elements of multisensory, structured language instruction for children with dyslexia and know why those elements are critical for success
- Implement instructional strategies appropriate for students with dyslexia or students with at-risk characteristics
- Identify an appropriate intervention program based on student characteristics
- Evaluate commercially available reading programs based on knowledge of important components.
